Homemade Marinara Sauce

What you need

tbsp kosher salt

bunch fresh basil

cup tomato paste

can italian tomatoes

cup red wine

clove garlic clove

white onion

tsp red pepper flake

tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
Instructions
In a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, add in olive oil. Once oil is hot, add in onion and sauté until translucent, 3-5 minutes. Next, add in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add in tomato paste and stir to incorporate. Cook until tomato paste darkens in color, 5-7 minutes. Add in red wine and San Marzano tomatoes and stir well. Let simmer for about 10 minutes, then add in seasoning and basil. To smooth out sauce, add to a blender and blend until smooth.
