Homemade Berry Compote

ANCAKES feat. a great homemade berry compote hack π₯ππ« when fresh berries are out of season (like now), they tend to not taste that great π« but I wanted a really yummy berry compote for my pancakes, and using frozen berries worked AMAZING!

What you need
lemon

cup mixed fruit
Instructions
-Add berries to a pan over medium heat. Add in the lemon zest and honey. Allow mixture to come to a boil, and use a cooking spatula to mash the berries down as they defrost. -Continue to cook and allow to thicket for 7-10 minutes, then remove from heat. Serve immediately on pancakes or anything you want, or place in a sealed container in the fridge and use within a week. Enjoy!View original recipe
