Serves 520 mins prep15 mins cook
I made these Greek-themed smash burger tacos on pita, with feta/onion burgers and a homemade tzatziki that’s sooo bomb.

What you need

cup feta

cup fresh dill

tbsp kosher salt
cup plain greek yogurt

cucumber

lb 85% lean ground beef

clove garlic clove

tsp freshly cracked black pepper

fl oz extra-virgin olive oil

fl oz lemon juice

red onion

pita
Instructions
In a large bowl, add in the ground beef, red onion, and feta. Season with 1 tbsp kosher salt plus the black pepper. Mix to evenly combine, then divide the meat into 4-6 sections and roll into balls. Smash the balls of meat down on the pitas, flattening the meat as thin as you can. Heat a grill or large cast iron skillet. Drizzle both sides of the pita with olive oil and place them meat side down onto the heat. Cook for about 7 minutes, until meat is fully browned. Flip and cook for about 5 minutes on the other side until meat is cooked through. Make the tzatziki sauce. Using the large grates of a box grater, grate 1/2 of the peeled cucumber, reserving the other half. Use a dish towel to squeeze out all the liquid from the grated cucumber. In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, dill, garlic, lemon juice, and 1 tsp kosher salt. Serve the smash burgers with additional feta and the tzatziki sauce. Dice the other half of the cucumber and serve cucumber pieces on the burgers, plus the cherry tomatoes and additional dill for garnish. Enjoy!View original recipe
