This baked onion recipe features a blend of Cajun spices and garlic-infused butter. Serve it as a shareable appetizer or a delightful side that’s guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser.

1. Preheat oven to 400F. 2. Cut the ends off the onion and peel the outer papery layer off. Carefully use your knife to cut a large hole in the center of the onion. Then, cut 4 slits around the outside. 3. Cut the butter into 3 sections, then cut one of the sections into 4 very slim sections. Slide the slim butter sections into the slits of the onion, then place one of the large sections into the hole of the onion. Set the 3rd section of butter aside. 4. Place the onion onto a piece of aluminum foil. Into the hole of the onion, pour the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and paprika. Wrap the whole thing with the foil and bake for about an hour, or until very soft and tender. 5. When just about ready to serve, place the remaining section of butter plus minced garlic into a microwave safe dish. Microwave for 30 seconds to melt the butter. 6. Remove the onion from the oven and place it on a plate or in a bowl. Pour the garlic butter over the top and garnish with parsley. Enjoy!
